Our elaborate plans are needing to change again. Gotta be flexible! Looking ahead to 2019, we have some big events for Elizabeth and Lucas on the first week of May . . . right when we had planned to go to Great Basin, Capitol Reef, Bryce, and Zion. So we’re flip flopping with one of the other desert trips.
We had chosen that first week in May for our Utah trip because it has reasonable temperatures and was over a new moon so we could try our hand at photographing the night sky again. Moving the trip a month earlier looks too cold and a month later looks to hot, especially since we want to camp it all. (We’re from the Northwest – we have a very narrow range of comfortable temperatures : ) We thought about moving the trip to the fall but we REALLY want to do Yellowstone and the Tetons in the fall.
So, we’re putting off that trip to a different year and have decided to do our trip to Saguaro, Petrified Forest, and Grand Canyon National Parks instead! Reasonable temperatures in Arizona jive with our calendar better. Bring on the planning!
On an unrelated note, we’re still working on our journal entries for our trip to Alaska but have lots of photos from it posted over on our Instagram and Twitter accounts for those interested!
